Feeling Overwhelmed!

I have had a week of feeling overwhelmed and not getting much done.  It's a bit like being stuck in a rut.  I think  I will call it the "pandemic rut"!  So to get out of my rut, I decided to work on a couple of Kathy Schmitz embroideries. These bunnies along with reading a bit each day has been a nice change of pace.

I have a bit more stitching to do on the second one then to decided how to finish them will be in order.  I am excited about  the new chart for the  Linen and Threads mystery.

I love how each additional month of stitching adds so much to the project.  My 12 Santa journey was put on hold due to the lack of embroidery floss.   I was able to get out Friday as some stores are reopening to get some more thread.   I also realized I miscounted how many Santa's I have finished.  So I need to update my last Santa post as this is the start of Santa number 6. The last leg of the Sentimental Quilter Mystery Quilt also came out, but I have put that aside for later.   Too many sticks in the fire is not good for this girl.  Hoping to have a more peaceful relaxing week, less news and more relaxing stitches are in order.

  1. It's easy to feel overwhelmed by what's going on! Love your stitching projects, those bunnies are super cute. I felt totally overwhelmed by aprils linen and thread but I really like the next instalment, it feels much more achievable. I look forward to seeing yours!

  3. I think a lot of us are feeling the same way. Too many logs on the fire does add to the stress levels. Hope the cute bunnies and stitchery help to ease that stress level.

    1. Well, I a vaccine gets created that can help get us back on tract. Till then less news and some time in nature along with reading and stitching should help. I am usually a home body but I guess I am really missing getting out when I want.

  6. The bunnies are so cute! It's so easy to get stuck in a rut, especially with everything that's going on currently. We've tried to make the weekend as different from mon-fri as possible - no news, different activities, changing the route on our daily walks. It's all helped to make it feel like we're not just in one 6-week-long week!

  7. I think many of us are beginning to feel the rut, Carla. I have a box of embroidery threads I very rarely use. What colors do you need?

  9. April was like a holding pattern for me Carla ... I totally get you having a week of overwhelming feelings from even hearing news in the house if you aren't watching it yourself... be kind to you and get headphones... listen to some music or a book on tape :) My honey is comforted by the news and Twitter... I am NOT. So I am trying to take my own advice this week and quilt more and listen via my headphones too.
I love all your stitching you have been up to! I have a bunny stitchery a friend made me hangs on my wall in the sewing room when she wanted me to use for a mug rug.. I just think bunnies are cute cute cute! Happy stitching! Kathi

    1. That is great advice. I do love using headphones as they help keep me from being distracted. I agree bunnies are always so cute you can't help but smile.

  10. Yes that "rut" is here, too; having the general feeling that "this" IS
    the new normal;0000.
Mental fogginess and lack of energy...generally pushing myself to get up and DO something!! Feel like it's slogging through molasses...but the sun is shining for a change so that is
    good...take heart....~ ~ ~ waving from afar...Julierose

    1. Misery loves company, and your description is perfect! I agree sunshine helps and a few of my perrenials are starting to bloom here in Tx. A wetter than normal spring really makes everthing look better than normal so there is hope. Hopefully this new norm won't last too long!

  11. Some hand stitching is the perfect antidote to overwhelm, but sometimes we/I forget that because of overwhelm! LOL
And stitching bunnies is the perfect task!
Thanks for linking up to Slow Sunday Stitching!

    1. Dealing with a lot of personal decisions on retirement, healthcare and the virus on top of it really isn't fair. But now those decisions have been made it's time to relax and enjoy each day.
