It's been a great week here. Starting the week with a wonderful Mother's Day with my son and his family! I am so thankful for the technology we have today as I could have a wonderful video chat with my daughter and her family all the way from Cambridge, England. My hope is that we can go visit sometime in the next 2 years before she comes back to the states. I guess time will tell as things start to reopen and we try to live in a new way to avoid the virus. Thursday, we went out to celebrate my 65th birthday! It was the first time we sat down at a restaurant in I don't know how long. It seemed like ages! Here I am with hubby and my son.
Of course, there was some down time for some crossstitching! I finished up my May Linen and Threads SAL chart! Each additional motif really adds so much to this project!
And since I was able to get out and pick up some dmc threads I could go ahead and work on Santa #6. This is the 1993 release and kind of dear to my heart as he is the gardening Santa. Lots and lots of stitches still to make but he is coming along.
Hope you had a wonderful week and found some time to make your favorite stitches!
Your Santa is coming along and beautifully so. Your Mother's Day sounds as if it was lovely. Such a lovely photo of you with your husband and son. Wonderful, too, that you were able to video chat with your daughter and her family. Oh the wonders of modern technology. Wouldn't it be lovely if you could visit her in Cambridge, England. Fingers crossed that you are able to make the trip sometime within the next two years. It makes one wonder how long it will be till international flights will be up and running again.
ReplyDeleteYes the unknown has really put a halt to our plans of visiting. I feel bad for her family too as she has a two year time frame to be there and they are not able to explore England and Europe like they wanted, at least for now. Hopefully a vaccine that is in the works pans out and helps us all get back to normal.
DeleteI think that is the first photo I have seen of you now I can put a face to the name. I hope you can get to England one day too - if this virus will just go away we can get back to our yearly 2 month RV trip too - not this year, this year we will stay safely home as I don't want to make plans for fall not knowing if it will be safe to travel - wouldn't want to have to isolate in a small camper!!
ReplyDeleteYes the unknown makes it hard to plan anything! Even though things are opening up here they suggest those over 65 stay home as much as possible.
DeleteThe santa is going to be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI am really loving stitching these Santas there are a lot more to choose from I may just have to keep going!
DeleteGlad your mother's day was nice as was mine... I am glad you can video chat to England family too... I love seeing you in a photo with those close to you... you are beautiful!!! Your cross stitch along is going well... have a beautiful rest of your May! Kathi
ReplyDeleteYeah I can't imagine going thru this pandemic without the digital world to keep us connected!
DeleteI love your SAL piece. The motifs are really pretty. Your Santa is looking good too. Hubby and I were hoping to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary in London in July, but now are just hoping to be able to visit sometime in the distant future. I hope you can visit your daughter sometime also.
ReplyDeleteOh isn't it aweful that we can't travel when we had something we were planning. But hopefully things will get better. There is talk of a vaccine possibility but it will be quite some time.
DeleteBeautiful stitching, and Happy belated birthday!
ReplyDeleteThank you so thankful to have some simple stitches to enjoy
DeleteHappy birthday! And how lovely to be able to go out and eat too! Your May section of the stitch a long looks so good, I am tempted to do a one colour version one day.
ReplyDeleteYes it was so nice to get out, not something we will do a lot with the virus lurking. I finished my May motif this week and can't wait to see what's next! I find deciding on what color to use is the hardest thing. I still need to try varigated thread one day but then making myself make each crossstitch as I go would be a challenge.
DeleteHappy belated Birthday and Mother's Day
ReplyDeletepretty stitching!
Thank you!
