Santa #4

I have been working on Santa # 4 this week while keeping up dated on the corona virus.  I think I spent a little too much time watching and worrying as by Thursday, I just started feeling upset.  I don't consider myself a person who overreacts to things, but I must admit it has shaken me.  Everything seemed to be upsetting me.  So Friday morning I got up and just stitched, I made it my priority.  The day was so much better.  I decided there's really not too much  that any of us can do but to try and follow the guidelines.  I hope that most are coming to the same conclusion.  So, since I have eight more Santa's to stitch,  there is plenty of slow stitching to keep me sane.  Here is my progress on Santa #4!

I am looking forward to this week as signs of spring are getting stronger.  We have had close to 16 inches of rain this year in our area, twice the amount we usually get.  A record was broken today with 11 consecutive days of rain.  But the forcast for this week looks like we may see Mr Sun again, that should help my attitude a lot. I hope that you are finding some solace in your stitching  too!

  1. we have been very wet here to I was so glad yesterday it was sunny and now today woke up to rain again and the yard is a sloggy mess in places. I'm trying to not check the news first thing in the morning it is so depressing if it is all one is doing. I really feel for any that do not have a hobby to do right now I am so glad I have a well stocked supply of things to make quilts and yarn for knitting and crochet

    1. Heard to day that the malaria drug seems promising for helping patients with COVID19. So nice to hear good news and sun tomorrow and for the next few days. Hang in there, it has to get better

  2. I too have been keeping busy. Not with counted cross stitch but quilting projects instead. I watch the news but it has mostly become repeat, repeat, repeat.
Your Santa has made much progress. I ordered some cross stitch patterns yesterday. One of these days I may jump back on the bandwagon and actually work on one of them.

    1. Yes the news gets old these days. Hopefully this malaria drug will give us some hope until they can develop a vaccine. I am really really enjoying the crosssitch. Working on heavy quilts seems like work but I hope to finish quilting the tops I have in waiting.

  3. You certainly going to town on the Santas. I love all of them! I have been trying to stick with the new in the evening. You are right - all we can do is what is recommended and be grateful for what we do have.

  4. Love your Santas! I guess we all just need to get through each day the best we can. It isn't too hard for me, because I care for my DH, and I am generally socially distanced on a day to day basis. It is hard not seeing my daughters and grandchildren though!

    1. I can't complain about staying home, I tend to be a homebody, but I do worry about the impact that this has on so many families. I was hoping to go to England early fall to see my daughter sure hope things get better by then.

  6. I agree - too much of the news makes me feel really anxious, so we have to turn it off. Glad your stitching helps you to feel better - your Santas are so fun!
