Cruising!

I must say that the last couple of years I have put in a lot of slow stitches.  I have really tried to put in a few stitches everyday, not always possible but I could probably count the days I have not with the fingers on my hands.  There is something so relaxing about pulling thread thru the fabric.  This week I was very focused on working on my  borders for Baltimore Garden.  It is so much fun to applique the swags in place after working on the small leaves and flowers parts in the blocks.  I felt like I was on the autobahn, just cruising along!

The trouble with driving this fast is I have reached my destination.  So today I will be prepping stems, leaves and flowers for the forty flowers that ago between the swags.  It will be fun to add some green to the simple yellow and red swags.  They look so plain after working on the blocks and the little flowers should cheer them up a bit.

I will be linking up with Kathy's blog to see what others are slow stitching today! Come join us!

  2. I love the look of Baltimore Album quilts. Not sure if I'd ever have the patience to make one, but I should try to make at least one block. Hm.... Have fun stitching!

    1. Oh I so agree, doing a large quilt like Baltimore Garden is a big undertaking, but each block is like a new project, so for me much easier than making the same pieced block hundreds of time for a pieced quilt.

    1. Yeah, so good to be at this point. Still a long ways to go, I know I won't finish this month, but it should be a top soon after the new year.

  9. Must be careful on that auto bon but it sounds like there were no crashes with your stitches! Great job working through them so quickly... now onto the flower decorations.

    1. Yeah no accidents, but it sure was fun to speed up after all the slow, slow applique! The little flowers are fun! Each one takes some time with all the prep work and stitching, but nothing like the blocks!

    1. I just had to enjoy the open roads while they lasted! There are forty little flowers so they will take awhile, but each one will be a joy to stitch!

    1. Yeah, I was really cruising but these flowers are like red lights! But they do add a lot of interest to the border. Raining here and I don't feel like stitching, hopefully tomorrow will be more productive!
