Number 23 complete!

I am not sure how many hours I put into this block, but it seems I have been working on it for close to a month.  A lot of leaves, curved stems and layered flowers.  They all take time, but I think it was worth the effort.

  1. I finally have internet tonight and catching up on blogs - I love this block and yes well worth the extra effort put into it. I don't remember have you shown what the whole quilt will be like or are you creating as you go?

    1. If you google Baltimore Garden I am sure a picture of the quilt will come up, Karen. Barbara Burnham developed the pattern from an antique quilt that was originally made by someone whos initials were MEC. It has twenty five blocks which are surrounded by a double swag border.

    1. I had been thinking lately, all this red and green is probably starting to get boring. But for me, I can never get enough. I guess that Is a good thing cause this one has been two years in the making so far. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I won't feel as bad about posting yet another block.

    1. Thanks Kathy! This one did have a lot of pieces and layers. I am pleased with how it turned out! I think I will take a break before I start the next one.

  6. Using the different green fabrics gives your block so much interest. I took a quilt class early on that taught it was so much more interesting to use a variety of shades and pattern within.

    1. I agree and I hate worrying about having enough fabric when I choose just one. I went out to my garden to decide the color green I wanted to use and decided if God could use a variety why couldn't I. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Deb, I must admit I am happy to be this far along. Each block is a major project in this quilt. But the end is almost here, then on ward to the borders.

  9. It's a really beautiful block, Carla. And you have done a great job on all those tight curves! Well worth the effort, I say!

  10. Thanks Monica! Those tight curves were so hard when I first was learning to do needle turn. They are still a challenge but I think I am winning the battle.
