Now to get started!

Looks like teal is the new color RSC2014!  So I just headed to the sewing closet to see what was in the stash. Looks like I have everything to make my 3 pickle dish blocks. Since it tax season, I am not sure any sewing will get done this week as tax preparation will take center stage.

I am glad to report that I did make some progress on my hexie project this week. Now to decide what that center medallion will be.  My first thought was an applique block, but this morning I though maybe a crazy quilt block. I have wanted to try one, is this my opportunity............hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm??????

Well, I have some time to think about it!  I did decide since I finished my Floribunda quilt that my new focus will  be finishing the rest of the blocks for Baltimore Garden. That along with my RSC2014 blocks should keep me pretty busy.

  1. Those hexies just pop on the background. Looks like you have a busy year ahead of you, the fabric selection then cutting and prepping of the Baltimore Garden blocks will be quite time consuming. Taxes! I guess I'll have to gather my information together too and visit the post office for the forms. For whatever reason, the government wold prefer we do our taxes on line or use a purchased computer program. I'm not there yet. I use the computer for so much but not taxes.

    1. Yes Baltimore Garden is a big task. I have the fabrics, I just need to finish the last twelve blocks. But they have a lot of pieces, thankfully the stems and leaves are pretty routine, but those layered flowers can be time consuming and darn right hard. I may have to replace some with ruched flowers, to keep it fun.

    1. I do love pairing the brights with black and whites, my first attempt at using hand dyes with batiks that have sat in my stash, so glad to be using them.

  4. Your pickle dishes will be great in these fabrics. Don't get your taxes in a pickle as well.

    1. I only make four blocks a month for RSC, so there is plenty of time to get them done.
