March Week 2 Teal RSC2014

Well, I did find some time to stitch the first of three teal pickledish blocks for this month's challenge.  I ran out of a black and white scrap so decided to add a few strips of a white to make it a bit more scrappy.  Do you get that good feeling when you use a piece of fabric up?  If you need help with some scrappy quilt ideas follow this link to Rainbow Scrap Challenge and see what others are creating.

  1. I don't think I've used a piece of fabric up....giggle. Lovely block.

  2. love the teal and black! I thought I had finally used up some big pieces that I bought years ago and then realized I had some in the jelly roll strips scrap box - it won't go away :)

    1. Sometimes those scraps seems like they multiply when your not looking. But I do find them fun to use.

  4. Why is it that using things up is so satisfying? I get the same feeling when I get to the end of anything. Another lovely block.

    1. Maybe we realize it is a reason to go out and purchase more fabric. Thanks Angela

  5. So pretty! I feel quite virtuous when I use up a fabric :)
I should look for more opportunities to do that because I really think I'm something when I do it! LOL

    1. I like being frugal and I think that is part of it. I think that is why I like scrappy quilts so much.

  6. I like the white too, maybe some day I will use those pieces up too. So far I have made five quilts from scraps and have two more started.

    1. Thanks Ellen, I have heard some refer to this block as a eyelash block. Now that you mention cat's eye I can see that also, must be the greens.
