Finishing touches

I only need to make eight more perfect  cirles to finish off the centers of the flowers on block 6 called Eliza's strawflowers.  The flowers in this block had four layers so they were quite labor intensive.  They are far from perfect, but that is alright, in the garden not all of my flowers are perfect so I  rather like them that way. I was pleased enough to sign and date my block, that took a bit of bravery, after a week of stitching on this block.

  2. Wow! I love it!!! I have never even been tempted to try a Baltimore Garden - someday maybe my applique will get good enough for me to think about it.

    1. This is my fourth applique project, I just became addicted, partly cause I really don't enjoy piecing.

    1. Thank you! I keep laying my blocks out as I finish them trying to imagined the whole quilt being completed. A long way to go before I can even start hand quilting it.

  5. When I am stitching these blocks, it makes me wonder who designed the original blocks way back in the 17th century. They definitely were quite talented!

  6. OH MY GOODNESS! OH MY GOODNESS! I just ran across your blog and I'm SOOOOO glad I did!

I am in need of a bunch of tiny circles and I've seen how you have done yours.....not cutting them out until
you have done the basting around them. GENIUS!!! I already have Kay Buckley's circle templates, just needed
to see your method to have a successful time at it!! I have not done a whole lot of appliqué and blogland helps
me be like a sponge gathering tips and tricks along the way!

    Your work is lovely!!!

    Thanks soooo much!!!!

    1. So glad, you liked my idea. It really really does make it easier especially when you get to the smaller sizes. I like blogging and visiting blogs for that very reason, there is really a lot of great ideas out there. The inspiration is a nice bonus!
