Peony Quilt

This quilt started with my love for flowers. I had the whole side of the garage in our home in St Peters, Mo planted with peonies in this exact color.
So with a bit of piecing and some simple appliqued leaves these blocks were formed. The plain blocks will be quilted with feathered wreaths, so it will be very traditional. I will wait for fall to start this one, but it will be hard since this will be a fun one to quilt.

  1. It's a beautiful quilt and it will really be special with lovely hand quilting. Great job!

  2. I love peonies as well and your quilt is gorgeous I also love red and green quilts.
I have the reds too along the back of my yard and I will let you know that they dry lovely if you want them all year round they look like roses, but only the reds look the best dried.

    1. I had never tried to dry them. Down here in Arkansas we dry the hydrangeas. FYI, Betweens I ordered the digital Fons and Porter June 2011 issue after I saw your finished basket of flowers quilt. Hopefully I can start it next year have a few more WIPs to complete.
