Advances

It's been a crazy the last two weeks at our house.  But all in all things have gone well.  We had our tile planks installed and the house is back in order.  We were very luck to have gorgeous fall weather and were able to stay outside while the tilers installed and grouted.  It took them four days to do three rooms and a hallway.  I must say I am very pleased with the results.  It is so nice to have the smooth transitions from room to room!

I also found some time this last week to work on my Linen and Threads November Chart!  I am hoping to finish this month's stitches this afternoon.  I decided I am including the fly.  Tomorrow morning I have an early start as I will head to the hospital to have an injection into my lower back to help with the back pain that I have been dealing with.  I found out I have two pinched nerve ends and bulging discs that are pressing on my sciatic nerve.  No fun, and I am hoping  this will do the trick along with some  physical therapy.

Not much progress has been made on my spring stitchery, but I will get back to it as soon as the SAL for November is completed!

We are continuing to have gorgeous fall weather here in North Texas.  I captured a pic of a neighborhood tree that showed some nice fall colors. Most of our trees are live oaks that stay green or oaks that just turn brown. So it was nice to this one sparkling in the sun.

Soon it will be time to bring the Meyer's lemon tree indoors for the winter.  I plan on picking the lemons and making a lemon meringue pie for Thanksgiving.  It has been a fun journey watching this tree bloom and finally get some new leaves  and actually produce some fruit.

On a final note, I purchased my interfacing to finish my Santas.  I probably won't be doing that however till we get back into town after Thanksgiving.  Hopefully all goes will with my back and I can get the Santa's stitched and the house decorated for Christmas.  Happy Stitching Everyone!

    1. I get the same feeling looking at the lemon tree and I am not a fan of yellow. But lemon bars, pies and loaves spark my interest! Being retired its fun to have things to tend to and we are never too old to learn about things.

  2. I hope the injection will help you - it sounds like the kind my sister got - it helped her for awhile but she didn't follow up on doctors advice and PT so of course didn't have good results. Your wood flooring looks great and that lemon tree - so cool to have your own lemons isn't it.

    1. Yes I heard the shot is only good for so long and the hope is that it relieves the pain enough to allow some physical therapy to improve the situation. I am very excited about the lemons only five this year but the tree looks so much better than when we first got it so I think next year it will be more productive.

  3. Your home is looking lovely, it's so disruptive having work done but such a relief when it's finished and worth it when you get as good a result as you have. So sorry to hear about your back problems I hope the injection does the trick. I love your lemon tree, I wonder if I could grow one here you have given me food for thought, have a great week.

    1. Thanks Linda, always wanted to grow citrus but have never lived anywhere where it doesn't freeze. Here in north Texas our winters are mild but we do that days below freezing. Many here keep them in the garage during the winter and then bring them out in the spring again. I am going to try a sunny window...............time will tell on whether I am successful! Meyer Lemons can be grown in containers.

    1. It's not good to have pain that keeps you up! We need our rest. Usually my back doesn't bother me at night so I am luck there. Hope you find some relaxing stitching time to help you relax.

  8. The floors look great! I hope the injection went ok. I hear that it is painful for a couple of days and then it takes a bit to feel the effects. Hope you are resting comfortable and able to do a little stitching.
