Progress

It's been busy here! We had a new fence put in on the east side of our yard so we spent Tuesday spraying it and the west side so now they are all coherent and ready for the weather.   I have spent a little more time outdoors getting my  daily 10,000 steps.  You have have to take advantage of the gorgeous fall weather here in Texas. Fall is a bit like spring in some places after being cooped up in the AC it is so nice to be able to do things outside again.  Stitching is coming along on the final Santa!  He's all about birds!  I really need to mount my fall stitchery before the season ends, so that will be a priority this week. October seems to be moving along too quickly.  But there's plenty of time to stitch so hopefully I will get my October SAL charts stitched before the month ends.

Yesterday, we needed a change of pace, so we drove up to Turner Falls in Oklahoma.  It's really a beautiful area especially now that the temps are enjoyable.

We don't get the gorgeous fall colors here like the northern states but the area was gorgeous and the weather was perfect!

    1. I used to enjoy the vibrant fall colors when we lived in Wisconsin, but that doesn't happen here. But we do have gorgeous sunsets and very mild winters. Not sure one is better than the other, just different!

  2. the area you show is gorgeous. I think a lot of people in the northern areas do not get all how the hot weather just zaps the energy and that is why we spend so much time in the house in the summer - that humidity and heat is awful

    1. Yeah it's a bit like their winter! I do miss the gorgeous fall color that we used to enjoy in Wisconsin but I do like that we don't have the extreme temperature changes that they have. Our week is suppose to be cooler so I hope yours is too!

    1. Well, glad to hear its cooling off there. I have been avoiding the news so I hope the fires are coming to an end. I will be so glad when the election is over, although I don't think it will help make things better! Just keeping my head down and stitching thru for now.

  11. Santa is looking great. Yes, I love when the weather cools and we can go out from the AC and enjoy fresh air.... hoping for later this week to cool down a bit. I'm curious on what quilt will be coming out for some slow stitches once it cools down a bit.

    1. I need to hand quilt my king size hourglass medallion quilt! I am hoping the cooler weather ahead will entice me to hand quilt. It was warm again this weekend and today was in the 90s come on fall!
