Football and Stitching

Oh what beautiful weather we have been having.  I have spent a lot of times outdoors just enjoying it.  Today, we will warm up a bit so my plans are to enjoy some slow stitching and football.  My daughter who is living in England at the moment, but still a SeaHawks fan is hosting a virtual party so we can all enjoy the game when they take on the Cowboys.  Should be a lot of fun so I am hoping that I can get a few stitches in before the game starts.  Last week I finished up Quilting Santa for the second time around. He was as much fun to stitch the second time around.

Then I tackled the Linen and Threads September Chart.  The chart took us over to the otherside of the piece so it will be fun to see what comes out next. Won't be long now as this month is almost coming to it's end.  They seem to go by faster and faster.

That means I really need to start Santa # 12 soon so that I can get them all finished for Christmas.  But, I thought I would squeeze in this fall stitchery.  Tom and I made some wooden pumpkins to decorate at our house so it really put me in the mood to start this piece. Maybe I can finish it in time to enjoy it before the season ends. Time will tell!

    1. I made some progress on my fall stitchery, so I think I am just going to plow forward on it and then I can start that final Santa and squeeze in the October SAL somewhere in October the usually don't take too long. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Yes, so nice to have the season start! Kind of funny to hear the piped in crowd noise. Last week the Cowboys did allow 20000 fans to come to the home game. Yes, one more Santa and the finishing can begin, I am a bit excited about that!

    1. We aren't big sports fanatics but we have always enjoyed football. It seems however where ever we have lived we seem to jinx the local team. I know Arkansas natives don't really follow national teams either but they love their Razorbacks!

  5. Hope you enjoyed your virtual game with your daughter! Does she like living in England? Santa is gorgeous. It's not long until the stitch a long is complete....where has the year gone!

    1. Yes for the most part she is liking England. She was a bit concerned that they were forced to send their kids to school or face a fine. Luckily they are not teenagers yet and younger children seem to fair better with covid than teenagers. She misses some American food which might be a good thing. She bought some candy corn which in the US is a couple of dollars and paid 11 dollars in England. My son in law is trying to get a drivers license which seems to be quite difficult there. But they are grateful that they had the opportunity and that their children can experience it too!

    1. We lost by one touchdown, but that's ok at least we held our own! It was fun having all of my kids together even if one family was virtual!

    1. Kathi I purchase my cross stitch aida at Hobby Lobby and it's a really good price when you use their 40 percent off coupon. As for patterns, I have purchased a lot from Everything Cross stitch How neat that she is willing to make you something for your home!

  10. Carla, I just ADORE those wood pumpkins y'all made! Did you do a DIY post for those?! Your Santa is looking very jaunty and festive! Love that little Harvest sampler stitchery! I hope your Sea Hawks did well! I'm a Ravens and a Titans fan, but will cheer for anyone playing against the Cowboys. LOL! :)

    1. Ha Ha It's hard to be a Cowboys fan not sure why they are considered America's team. I hear covid hit the Titans hope they can play soon. I followed a diy video to make the pumpkins and added wired ribbon. The link is: https://www.hertoolbelt.com/rustic-pallet-pumpkin/ They were pretty easy to make and I am very happy with the results!

  11. You are doing a lot of cross stitch. I used to do cross stitch and have been watching lots of floss tubes and purchasing supplies. I have not started a project though. Too many quilt projects in the works.

    1. I really am enjoying these smaller projects although I do have several quilts to hand quilt, maybe the cooler temps of fall will get me back to putting in some hand quilted stitches. Time will tell! I wish we had more hours in the day but I know my energy level wouldn't keep up anyway!
