June Pickledish Blocks

Yes, yellow is the color for this month!  I did not get started right away this month as I have been doing a lot of applique and gardening.  I did get out my yellows to do my three pickledish blocks.  Luckily, I worked hard on them all week and got them completed.  Then Friday  the screw that you tighten to hold the needle broke off.  My Husqvarna sewing machine has been incident free since I got her.  I am guessing she is somewhere between ten and fifteen years old.  But, I am very blessed to have a talented husband who was able to remove the broken screw and a new one has been ordered. Not sure how long it will take to arrive, hopefully before the end of the month so I can get my wonky star block completed.

I really like the yellow version of pickledish blocks and as each month passes I see that I am really going to love this quilt.

    1. I agree handy husbands are the best. I really thought it was going to be a bigger problem than it really was. Those screws are so small and to break off flush with the machine, I figured I had really put him to the test. LOL

    1. This is my first pickle dish quilt and I am so glad I finally decided to try them. I am using paper piecing which makes them really easy to do.

  4. that is one part of the sewing machine that I never thought of breaking! I have had mine come loose though and had a needle break off because of it and dropped into the feed dogs

    1. Well, Karen it all started with a walking foot that I purchased and I really don't think it fit properly so it went back to the sewing center. I thought I had really done it this time, but my husband proved me wrong. Sometimes I think he must think I am the biggest dope. LOL

  5. This month's blocks are so pretty. How nice to have such a handy husband ... mine is not, but I'm thankful that he realizes that he's not handy ... we're not having to pay someone to come undo his handiwork. ;-)

  6. Oh, so sad to hear about the sewing machine. Hope that part comes in soon and you can be up and sewing again, When I look at the yellow pickle dishes all I want to do is say, "Buzz, buzz." Busy bees, yellow jackets - what ever you get the idea.

    1. Believe me Sheila paper piecing makes them quite simple. The best part is I love the way they turn out, so interesting, no getting bored making them.
