Wrapping things up!

I started this scrappy pumpkin seed quilt last year.  It is a four block quilt that I hoped to get finished in 2014.  The first three blocks have been completed for awhile, so it is time to get block four done so that the top can go to the holding area.  I love the colors in all the scraps and I am using a cheddar as the background, so it should be a great quilt to pull out this fall to quilt.
I love working on this kind of quilt, just sewing scraps together using a paper foundation and then pre-turning the seam allowances and with some applique stitches attaching it to the background.  I also love that there is a lot of solid background to showcase a great hand quilted design.
It is good feeling to get something closer to being finished.  When things stack up, it starts to drive me crazy.  How about you?

  1. I love your process for making this quilt. I think it makes a complicated design much more do-able!

I have too many projects on the go right now too.

  3. I love scrappy quilts a lot, this one is going to look wonderful. I'm afraid I'm guilty of many projects, I like the variety and I don't get bored.

    1. I get bogged down when I am piecing, it is the process of quilt making that I rather not have to deal with. I guess I should really do wholecloths, but I love all the colors in scrappy quilts.

    1. It's my fall hand quilting project, I need to decide what color thread I want to use and get the top assembled and thread ordered. It is going to be fun to pull this out of the closet this fall and start the quilting process.

    1. I already have the quilting design picked out, now to get the top assembled and thread color chosen. I probably won't start stitching it till fall, as some other projects are ahead of it. Once summer comes it just too warm
