Sunday is a day rest for many including me, a time to reflect and ponder. I also spend some time slow stitching. There is something special about the rhythmic stitching. Since we had a very chilly week here, with a lot of clouds and some rain, I really made some progress on my project, the scrappy string star.
Are you a quilt maker that names your quilts? So many do, something I have never done. I just never have been inspired to do so, and therefore I will admit, I am not very good at it. So if you have any ideas I would love to hear what you might name this one.
On Sundays I also enjoy linking up with Kathy's blog to see what others are stitching. There is so much talent out there. I love seeing what fellow quilters are doing.
Then of course, there isn’t a better way to end the evening, than watching a new episode of Downton Abby. I am totally hooked and can’t wait for the next episode.

I rarely name quilts. I'm not good at it either. WOW. What exquisite hand quilting! I wish upon a star that mine will even look half that good someday!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathy! Keep practicing you will get there!
DeleteBeautiful hand quilting. I do name my quilts, but usually just something to do with the name of the pattern, this one would be something like , String Stars. Not very original, but it is easier to refer to it that way.
ReplyDeleteThat is what I do too, but somehow this quilt is calling out to me that it needs a name. I still have alot of stitching to do, maybe it will tell me.
DeleteOh Carla...your quilting looks amazing! A great photo that really shows the texture...and you're half way done already!
ReplyDeleteI love to name quilts...usually as I am quilting, a name will come to me.
What about "My Favorite Strings" or "Super Scrappy Strings" or "Stellar Stars"...see what happens in my brain?!?! It goes on and on!
I LOVE Downton Abby too...totally addicted! Love the characters, the settings, the lighting and filming...just great!

looking good! I am not good at naming my quilts either. I usually get my daughter's help.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty terrible at naming quilts too :*) Hopefully someone has given you the perfect name! I also love Downton Abbey - can't believe the events tonight!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilting! I usually name my quilts, usually with some help from the blog-universe. Another thing I've done is do key word searches in google and see what pops up. The green and brown in your quilt remind me of mint and chocolate desserts. So how about Mint Chocolate Stars as a name?
