With Simple But Not and Wonky Star both finished this week, it is time to get back to Baltimore Garden. If you would like to see the completed quilts you can go here and here. For those of you that follow my blog you know that I only had one more border to applique for Baltimore Garden before I assemble the quilt. But with applique, I have found that taking some vacations from the project is really quite helpful. Now with the other two projects out of the way, I can focus on the final border. Once the border is completed I will assemble the top and then the corners swags will be appliqued and the final eight flowers will need to be added. Getting close, but there are still a lot of applique stitches to be made.
Winter has returned here! A new episode of Downton Abbey to enjoy and a border to complete this week. Everything is falling into place. Hope you can start your week with some slow stitches too! Make sure you visit Kathy's blog today and see what all the other slow stitches are doing!

ReplyDeleteYou know me welll! Yes; the quilting will be my favorite part of making this quilt!
DeleteAaaaah, an evening of applique and Downton . . . sounds like the perfect plan to me!! Enjoy! :)
ReplyDeleteYes and the pitter patter of rain outside!
ReplyDeleteHandwork and Downton Abbey ... sounds like the perfect way to spend this evening. Truth be told, I'd rather be spending my evening watching just about anything other than the Super Bowl while sitting in my recliner quilting T#3's quilt. But I will enjoy the good food and the time with our friends, so I am not complaining. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good time, Kathy! Sure is a great day to sit and stitch as it has been raining most of the day. At least it's not a gully washer. Enjoy your stitching!
DeleteThat's just how I will be spending my evening too! In the meantime, we are cleaning out our home office so it can become my sewing studio. We are in line for a snowstorm today so it is a perfect day to get things done inside. Happy stitching to you!
ReplyDeleteOh how exciting! Yes, a perfect time to get those big indoor projects going. It is a lot of work but I am sure you are going to enjoy having that space for your studio!
DeleteI just received my Downton Abbey DVD set from Amazon yesterday! ( no cable TV so I'd pre-ordered. YAY :)
ReplyDeleteI just love that show! So dreary here, hope your not in the path of the big snow storm moving across the country. Happy Stitching!
DeleteI've taken vacations from a few projects too. It sounds like the perfect evening--sewing and Downton--I'll be adding a glass of red wine to the mix--lol!
ReplyDeleteOh, that does sound good! Here's to some happy stitching! Salute!
DeleteAnd what great finishes those were, Carla! I'm going to have to make a wonky star one. That double swag border is coming along. I invite you to link to WIPs Be Gone and show off your progress. It's going to be a gorgeous quilt and you are getting closer!
ReplyDeleteThank! I hope to keep my hands busy this week finishing up this last border!
DeleteHappy stitching Carla. Will also be watching Downton Abby and also the The Great British Baking Show, no football for me, but will be rooting for the Seahawks for my family who does watch.
ReplyDeleteI will be rooting for Seattle too, as my daughter and her family live there. But I must admit I am not a big fan. I follow the Cowboys a bit as my husband watches them play I love those PBS series. Have you ever watched Last Tango in Halifax?
