Happy Birthday Liana!

One of my favorite things, of course is my sister, Liana! We are only 1.5 years apart in age, so we were always together during our childhood.  I could go on and on  about our childhood adventures, but I will sum it up with she was my best  bud and confident.  Anyway, she is celebrating the big 6 0 this year and in her honor I made this quilt.

                                              Happy Birthday Liana!
We both love gardening, so this pattern was chosen for that reason.  It reminds me of walking on stepping stones and enjoying the wonderful colors that are in the garden.

  1. Carla, this is a stunning quilt; and it does remind one of strolling down a garden pathway! I am sure your sister will cherish it...hugs, Julierose

  4. one of my sisters and I are very close like that also - we are 17 months apart, we even shared an apartment together before we got married within 6 weeks of each other. Now we live miles and miles apart but we know we are there for each other

    1. Isn't it wonderful to have such a close relationship, even though you are miles apart. My sister lives about nine hours away but we are enjoying skype.

  6. Actually I used warm and natural cotton, something I wouldn't use for hand quilting, but I did big stitch this one and using the larger needle made it possible. I like mountain mist cream rose as a cotton batting when I hand quilt but the warm and natural does wash up so cozy.

    1. Yes, she really did like it. I am waiting for a picture of her wrapped up in it. I am sure it will be close by her the next few days with the weather heading our way.
