Slow Stitching

Well, the ground hog sure had the prediction of spring wrong this year. It is cold and blustery here today.  So, why not take advantage of being couped up and get some enjoyable hand quilting done on these two miniatures.  My miniature wall still has a lot of room for some colorful minis and I really enjoy making them.  They are great ways to try different blocks and not be committed to making a large quilt. I machine basted them and have completed hand quilting the stars on the bottom quilt.  I can't wait to get them added to the wall.

  1. They are just delightful! The colours are beautiful in both of them, but I especially like the black background in the the larger one - great with the jewel colours. I can see the attraction of making these minis - you wouldn't get bored and you get to try so many different blocks - and I imagine hand quilting is more manageable without the weight of a large sandwich. I love the look of many minis all together on a wall.

    1. Yes it is! They are also a great bridging project, sometimes it is hard to go from large quilt to another, kind of like a mini vacation!

  3. Making minis is fun! I also am more willing to step outside of my comfort zone with them. The cheddar and purple combo is something I would not normally do, but it has really inspired me to try more daring color combos.

    1. I heard that too! There was actually a law suit! Are you kidding !!!! More people need to spend time quilting to keep them busy and not bringing lawsuits against a harmless ground hog!
