Hand quilting and hand stitching is therapy for me, so over the Memorial Day weekend I took along precut pieces to stitch on the trip to Texas. I plan to do the same for the next trip we take in July to TN. It is nice to have something to keep my fingers busy on the long trips.
These klosjes will be appliqued onto 6.5 in blocks which will then be stitched together to make a quilt top. I am using all pink fabrics for the actual spools, but I haven't decided about what I will use for the background block. I have thought about browns or may just go scrappy. Time will tell, and it will be awhile before I get enough of these together to make a quilt top.

Ohhhh .... these look so familiar to me!!! I so enjoyed making mine and to see you making your blocks, well I'm reliving my experience all over again. These are wonderful for toting along to work on when travelling. I look forward to seeing what background fabrics you will apply these to. Enjoy your trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your wonderful Klojes quilt, it was very inspirational for me! I just hope that someday mine will be completed. I know if I keep at it, it will happen!
DeleteYou are so right!
ReplyDeleteI love these blocks! Not sure where in TN you are headed, but if you are on the eastern side, maybe you can detour to see us!
ReplyDeleteVery original spool blocks !
ReplyDeleteI got the block off of block base, after seeing a Canadian quilter Rose Marie make one. It has a long way to go but it is all about the process for me, I enjoy every minute of it!
