Red and White Miniature

I came across this paper pieced mini atThe House That Kaffe Built. I am not fond of paper piecing but really wanted to do this one in red and white. There is still a lot of room on my mini wall and I have always wanted to do a school house block.

The miniature that I made has four blocks across and four down and sashing in between. I wish I had used a water soluble paper, however, since picking out the paper pieces was quite tedious.

  1. Oh it's so beautiful and very similar to the one I want to do from the new book by Renee Plains, Stitches From the Schoolhouse. I love house quilts and have always wanted to do one myself.
Yours turned out so great and bless your heart for tackling paper piecing! No thank you on that one! LOL I've tried it before and it just wasn't for me.
You've done such a nice job!
    Love your handquilting too!

  2. this is incredible I just want to stop everything and make this it girl just love it!

  3. I also want to drop everything and make this quilt. I can honestly say it is one of my favorite quilts I've ever seen! Thanks for the link to the pattern. O
