Over the River

I finished my "Over the River" quilt yesterday. It was machine pieced and hand embroidered and hand quilted with Baptist fans. The first photo is a closeup of the embroidery I did last winter. The second photo is a photo of the label on the back of the quilt. This is the first time I remembered to attach the label first so it could be quilted into the quilt.  I am pleased with how it turned out. The pattern is by Crabapple Hill Design.  I am so glad that I got this one completed in time to hang for the holidays. Posted by Picasa

  1. You got this quilted in one month??? Wow, I'm impressed. It takes me longer to do a table runner! It's beautiful, this is the first time I"ve seen this pattern hand quilted, I love B.F.'s for any type of top! Nice job.

  2. That's pretty awesome. It reminds a bit of Toile print for some reason.

  5. I followed a link someone posted (maybe you?) over on the fb hand quilting page, & was delighted to see this quilt! I'm in the process of making it, just bought the material for the piecing yesterday. My two girls (12 & 14) are doing the embroidery for it. It is a beautiful quilt!

    1. Yes, it was me! I love this quilt and was very pleased how it turned out. I also love the way the the babtist fans worked on it like big snow drifts. It is a great way to get an equal amount of quilting throughout the quilt. Sometimes that is hard to do when embroidery is involved.
