Shame Shame!

As I get up this morning and drink my cup of coffee.  I feel a lot of shame, when I look at the progress on my SVBQ block.  Not much progess at all this week!!!!!! Not sure why I can't relax enough to enjoy my stitching.  I am going to take some tips from the Slow Stitchers over at the linky party at Kathy Quilts.  I really need to set a goal of making a bit of progress each day.  I know if I just allow my self the time it will soon become a habit. So instead of being depressed about my progress I will share my progress in the photo below.  I almost got all the red petals added and I am going to concentrate on how once I finish them and once I get that stem added this block will blossom into a lovely block to add to my quilt.  It's just a hodgepodge right now, I really need to make it my goal to bring it all together, don't you think?

  1. As I remember, this particular block was a lot of work and knowing when to place what. You will get there.

  2. This is why it is called SLOW stitching :) Be nice if we could just sit and stitch but there's prep work involved too; it's coming along beautifully!

    1. That is what I always take away from your blog. I once had that daily routine of stitching and am slowly adjusting to my surroundings and hope to get that back. I found the corner in the eat in kitchen by the table is a great place to stitch. My hoop can sit in the corner and although it will have to be moved when guests are over it's not that big of an ordeal.

  5. You made progress =) No worries - fabric is patient and you have been busy. Maybe just schedule a little 15 minutes in the day to sit and relax and stitch. You will be amazed how much gets done in that little bit of time and hopefully the joy will come back.

    1. Thanks for the encouragement. I finished my block and have decided to concentrate on finishing Baltimore Garden in the next few weeks. Getting close enough to the end that it seems to want more attention.

  7. Don't beat yourself up on your progress. Sometimes I only have 10 to 15 minutes each day and if that is all that I manage that is enough. Any progress, no matter how little is still progress. Your block is looking very pretty.

    1. So many have said that, and I know that from past experience. Doing much better this week. It's so true it's not about how much you get done but enjoying the time spent stitching.

  9. I have had a slow week also. I think mine was because my quilt is completing itself and that is always a difficult transition.

  10. Carla, life happens. I'm learning to be gentle with myself. That in itself is helping me to enjoy what little slow stitching I can get in. I absolutely love the encouragement from the other quilters!!! Your project looks beautiful!

  14. I wouldn't worry Carla - just wait till you get in the groove again. I don't do well with goals - but having lots of different projects going at once seems to keep the mojo going. I've stopped at 9 blocks with SVBAQ and now waiting for inspiration on how to put them together - determined they won't be shelved!
