Christmas Journey

Christmas Journey  is finally  complete. I just love traditional quilts and am so glad to have this one complete to enjoy this holiday! It is a bit of a gloomy day here for good pictures but here it is.

 I collected the fabrics for this quilt while traveling to visit family, Christmas 2011, our last Christmas with my father in law so I am dedicating this quilt to his memory.

  2. so lovely - I'm glad you got finished with your quilt - I might finish mine before the end of the year but it will be close! It is strange in a way seeing a quilt so closely reassembly mine and yet so different if you know what I mean.

    1. Your very close to finishing! I agree I designed one of my blocks, and the pinepple and corner blocks came from fellow bloggers. I will be looking forward to seeing your Red and Green. Hoping for a sunny day to take some better pics before I post on Celebrate Hand Quilting.

    1. I tried to pick blocks that related to my life journey. Such a fun to quilt to make. It also improved my needle turn applique. I have a new appreciation for anyone who does Baltimore Album type quilts!

    1. Thank you Ellen, Now I just have to finish the Baltimore Garden blocks next summer. I am sure it will take another summer to finish the borders. Balrimore Album type quilts are a lot of work, but they are so beautiful.

    1. I agree the memories that got sewn in stitch by stitch is the best part of this quilt. I think more and more are realizing the gains of slow stitching, and that is wonderful too!
